Your insider guide to the best Aerial Fantasy picks for Gameweek 3

Each week in Aerial Fantasy, The Scout shares insider tips on the best picks for the upcoming fixtures. Think of The Scout as your weekly guide to spotting the players most likely to deliver big returns, helping inspire your own squad selection.

Here’s who The Scout is backing for Gameweek 3:

Goalkeeper + Defence

Faye Kirby – GW3 isn’t the strongest for goalkeepers, but there’s a clear path to a reward for Kirby. Eligible for visionary points, she needs three saves against an Aston Villa side ranked joint-fourth for shots to unlock those extras. Her team hasn’t been great so far and three saves would be triple her current total this season, but the target is realistic and the incentive is there.

Ellie Carpenter – With a strong chance of a clean sheet at home to Leicester, plus attacking involvement and a shot at bonus, Carpenter could post an excellent score. Now among the five most-owned defenders, her points could really hurt if you’re going without.

Anna Patten – Against a Liverpool side struggling badly in attack, Patten is the standout Aston Villa defensive option in GW3. She’s a lock for minutes, consistently strong on bonus, and a repeat of her opening weekend 9-pointer feels entirely possible.

Maz Pacheco – London City have already conceded nine goals in two games, making Pacheco an easy start. Her attacking qualities mean that any return puts her straight in the mix for bonus points. She showed her potential in GW1 with an impressive 11-pointer, and with this fixture she has every chance to deliver again.

Midfielders

Chasity Grant – Secure minutes, visionary eligibility, and a struggling opponent make Grant an appealing pick against Liverpool in GW3. Her ownership has crept just above 2% this week, so there’s still time to lock in those visionary points while they’re available.

Alyssa Thompson – How often does a Chelsea pick qualify for visionary points, and how long will it last? For now, Thompson has a favourable game against Leicester in GW3. Without proof of stable minutes she’s a risk, but the upside is big: extra points for goals as a midfielder, visionary bonuses, and likely two weeks of visionary-powered returns if she holds her place. One to consider if you’ve got a transfer to play with.

Mariona Caldentey – She hasn’t exploded yet, but Caldentey has ticked along with bonus in both games so far. If you’re unsure which way Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United will swing in GW3, Caldentey provides steady coverage without much risk or overcommitment.

Ornella Vignola – Simply put, London City at home is a good attacking fixture. They’ve conceded nine goals across their opening two games, and Vignola is nailed in Everton’s attack. Forget last week and back her again.

Forwards

Khadija Shaw (c) – Back amongst the goals and carrying a normal workload, Shaw’s outstanding record against Tottenham (10 goals in her last five WSL games) makes her a top captaincy candidate in GW3. Spurs’ defensive improvement under Martin Ho may reduce the appeal compared to past meetings, but not enough to put you off.

Agnes Beever-Jones – Chelsea’s rotation has claimed plenty of players, but Beever-Jones has held her starting spot in both games so far. Rest assured, she’ll feature in some capacity at home to Leicester in GW3. With two goals in two games already, she brings both form and fixture appeal.

Riko Ueki – Ever reliable for minutes, Ueki is a visionary-eligible forward worth considering in GW3. The two games between West Ham and Brighton last season produced nine goals, and Ueki bagged bonus in an 8-pointer in the latter. Add visionary points and you’ve got a high-ceiling, low-ownership pick for those chasing an edge.
